As a member of the NZARH you and your salon are invited to enter a raft of hairdressing competitions organised by the association. These events are unique as they are run in 14 regions throughout NZ giving all hairdressers an equal opportunity to share and compare their skills nationally. No better opportunity to train and up skill your staff and build both personal and professional profiles exists. Be part of the unique opportunities listed below. Regional Hair Design Awards - These are held annually in 14 regions between July and September. Trophies and in some associations, money is offered as prizes. The Oceanic Hairdressing Master Award - This exciting event is held in conjunction with the Regional Hair Design Awards. The event is held in two sections, “the cut” a commercial cut, where it relies entirely on the haircutter’s skills. “The conversion”, the hairdresser then converts the commercial haircut into an avant garde European couture catwalk look with the help of hairpieces, accessories and tools. The winners are invited to compete internationally in both Australia and New Zealand in alternate years. When the event is hosted in New Zealand, the Oceanic Hairdressing Master receives a travel voucher to the value of $2000. INDUSTRY AWARDS - (including the 2010 HITO Awards, Kitomba NZARH Business Awards and NZARH Supreme Awards) - For the first time HITO, Kitomba and the NZARH bring the ultimate in industry awards, competitions and seminars to the New Zealand hair industry. Hosted jointly over two days, these events will be attended by people from the hair and beauty industries. Supreme Awards - These are our National Hair Design Awards held bi-annually in Auckland. The winners of the regional competitions and their models are flown courtesy of the NZARH and their Regional Association to Auckland to represent their region. The Supreme winner receives a travel voucher to the value of $2000. NZARH Photographic Competition - Members are invited to submit entries regionally which are judged centrally in Auckland by a panel of New Zealand’s top hairdressers. Local winners are chosen and a National Winner has his/her work published on the cover of Headlines and receives a return airfare and VIP pass to Sydney’s Hair Expo. Kitomba NZARH Business Awards - Kitomba and the NZARH believe recognition in business is vital. To reward great business practice we run this annual event. |
